Welcome back to Monday with 2 Link-ups & a Winner

Well...welcome back to Monday. Oh, how too fast does this day of the week come around... Especially since I took off from work all last week...YAY! Unfortunately I haven't been feeling so well while off, but OH WELL, I sucked it up and enjoyed what time I could while I was off with some crafting.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog - Challenge Me Monday - Holiday Card

It's another exciting Challenge Me Monday at FCCB. This week the design team was asked to create some inspiring Holiday Cards.

Here is my card....

I used Winter Frolic to cut the tree limb, the gingerbread people, and the sentiment. The limb is at 4", the sentiment is at 2" , and the gingerbread people are at 1" as a border. I used the Gingerbread cart to cut the house and the candy canes. The candy canes are at 1/2" and the house is at 4". I used my white gel pen to do some stitching.

On the inside I used these super stamps from Sweet N Sassy Stamps . I used recollections ink (which I do not really like - this was my first time stamping with it - but I'm not impressed). The colors were Chestnut and Ruby.

Now, it's your turn to hop over to Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog and link-up your Holiday card. Remember it needs to have at least 1 cricut cut ;0)

Made Especially 4 You Challenge Blog - Easy as 1, 2, 3

It's time for another challenge and winner over at ME4Y. This week the DT was to make an inspiration using 3 of something. You can use 3 different papers...3 different embellishments...3 different colors.

Here is my card. I used 3 different papers.

The stamp is from 'Tis the Season from My Craft Spot .

This week's sponsor is K&K Designs. So head over to Made Especially 4 You to link-up your creations.

I used the Card Patterns sketch 143, this week's challenge sketch. I'm gonna link my card up over there, too. I'm also linking-up at Robin's Creative Cottage . The challenge there is to make your card have something sparkly on it.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I am super enjoying all the OUTSTANDING blogging friends that I am making.

Now....the moment you have all been waiting for...how mean of me to make you wait through 2 posts! HAHA.

Christmas Gift Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the Christmas Gift Blog Hop!

If you missed yesterday...scroll on down and check it out. Also, get registered on Day 1 for my blog candy ;0)

Thanks so much for stopping in today and joining us for the 2 Day Christmas Gift Blog Hop hosted by Becka from Creations with Becka .

You're gonna find lots of creative gifts that you can make for your friends, family, loved ones, co-workers, children's teachers, etc.
If you came from the super talented Dana of Dana's Crafty Corner, then you're in the right place. If you just stopped by please start at the beginning with the crafty Becka at Creations with Becka .

I made this cute potpourri filled luminary. I've made 2 versions....one is with Christmas lights and the other with a flameless candle.

I got all the stuff at the Dollar Tree. Gotta love the Dollar Tree.

Trace the top of the container that you choose on the fabric. Then cut out about 3 to 4" from the traced top. This will give you the lid for your luminary with some extra ruffles.

Start putting in the lights and alternate with the potpourri.

Easy as pie. Now put the fabric on the top and place a rubber band over to secure. Voila!

Here is an alternative version with a flameless candle. You just don't put as much potpourri in the jar. Dress up with some ribbon. The cut is a candy from the Gingerbread cart cut at 3".

Now it's time to get hopping. Please make sure you comment and each blog so you can win Becka's grand prize for the hop.

Christmas Gift Blog Hop

Hey All! Hope your Thanksgiving was AWESOME!
Now...time to start the countdown to Christmas. YAY!

I've made some super cute boxes to put candy in for the girls around the office. I think they will love 'em.
You can always use a piece of candy and since there are several ladies in the office it doesn't break the bank to get all of them a lil box of candy.

The patterned papers are from a DCWV Christmas Glitter Stack. The solid papers are from a Recollections assorted colors pack and some are Wal-mart standard cardstock.

The toboggin is cut at 4" from the Gingerbread cartridge. The picture frames are made from a Martha Stewart punch using the negative and positives.

The stamp is from a My Craft Spot set called 'Tis the Season. I won them from an awesomely talented crafty friend at My 3 E Scrapbooking . The santa clause is from Walmart in Studio G.

The penguin and the trees are cut at 3" from the Winter Frolic cartridge. The stocking is cut at 3" from the Gingerbread cartridge.

Here are some simple pics that show you how easy these boxes go together. I used an Elmer's tape runner and some Zip Dry paper glue.

Start with an 8 x 8" piece of cardstock of whatever paper you want to be the outer portion of the box. Score the paper at 2" all the way around. You can see the four places where you cut into the edges to make the corners.

Now whatever cardstock you want to be the liner of the box cut to be 8 x 8" and score in 2" all the way around. Cut out the 4 corners (4 small, outer squares).

Now flip over the liner paper. To the edges run the tape runner. Here I used some awesome crinkle ribbon from my stash. I have it from My Craft Spot and 3 Girl Jam . Both are great and I love 'em.

Now make the box. Flip the liner back over and place inside the patterned paper . I used some Zip glue to adhere the bottom and the sides.

I hope you like the boxes. I know my friends will. If something isn't real clear on how to make or you'd like some more detailed info...just drop me a comment with your email and I would be happy to walk you through a box.
Now it's time to get hopping. Please make sure you comment and each blog so you can win Becka's grand prize for the hop.

Since you made it this far....

Under the Bus....

Hey Friends. Got a super funny card to share today. Recently there was some drama with a friend and his co-workers. Well, the saying "Getting thrown under the bus..." kept getting said. So I decided to make my friend a card. The card turned out too cute not to share.

All the cuts are from Doodlecharms, except the lil person which is from Paper Doll Dress-Up. I, of course, had to black out my friend's face and the name of where he works (on the bus, hee hee). I stitched it up with my white gel pen and put a couple buttons and ribbon and Voila!

The inside sentiment was done with my computer. I edged it with a Martha Stewart punch.

My friend thought this card was super hilarious and cute.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a GREAT THANKSGIVING!!!

My Cricut Craft Room's Bake & Recipe Blog Hop

Welcome to the Bake and Recipe Blog Hop hosted by the awesome Erica of My Cricut Craft Room . You should've came from the super crafty Tracy.

With the holidays coming fast and furiously we need some good baking and recipe crafts.

Here's what I made....

It's a recipe book.

I cut the bases at 6". I cut this cute tree from Create-a-Critter at 4". I inked the edges of the tree with some MS pigment ink in the Aquarium set to make it have some depth. The awesome crinkle ribbon is a mix of my stash from 3 Girl Jam and My Craft Spot .

Here is a close-up of the back of the white 3" x 5" card to write down the recipes. I adhered some of the patterned paper to give the back a touch of the book. I put these lil velcro tabs on each end of the recipe card so you can remove when you use and replace when done.

Here is a close-up of the inking and corner rounding I did on the pages. I used my X-acto corner rounder and the same MS ink as I did on the tree.

I pop dotted the tree to make it stand out.

And what would be a recipe book without an awesome recipe?

 Potato Soup

5 large diced potatoes
1 large onion (chopped)
1 tsp salt

In a pot, with enough water to just cover the potatoes and onions, boil until potatoes are soft.

In the same pot add, 1 8 oz. package of cream cheese (cut into small pieces). Cook on medium until cream cheese is dissolved.

Then add...

1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 can Cream of Celery Soup
2 cups of Milk
2 TBS butter
1 tsp garlic salt
1/2 block of Velveeta cheese
1 small container of sour cream

Cook on Low Heat until all ingredients have melted and are well-blended.

When ready to eat...dip into bowl and top with some mild or sharp shredded cheddar cheese, crisp real bacon bits and chopped green onions.

This is delicious!!!!

So now it's time to get hopping.... Here is the line-up.

And...since you've gotten this far....How about some CANDY!!!!

In order to win....

1. Be a follower of this blog.
2. Leave a comment saying what you think about my recipe book and that you are a follower.
3. Sorry :0( but gotta limit this one to those who live in the U.S. and Canada.

I will use Random Number to choose a winner. I will announce the winner on Monday, Nov. 21st. So stop back by and see if the lucky winner is YOU!

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Friends. Thanks for stopping by. Today is the Fantabulous Cricut Harvest Blessings Crawl...Fantabulous Cricut's version of a blog hop!

The Fantabulous Cricut is celebrating our Harvest Blessings by creating projects that include Brown, Orange and Red – along with at least one Cricut cut!

Make sure to check out each DT member's blog for some awesome inspiration! There will be PRIZES along the way at some stops. There will be an awesome Grand Prize from FCCB for one participant that submits a "Harvest Blessings" project at FCCB!

Here is my project...it's a luminary centerpiece...

I used my Design Studio to weld these together. I cut them out at 2" from Cutting Up. I used my polka dot cuddle bug folder to emboss.

These cute lil Indian folk were cut from Paper Doll Dress Up at 3". I gave them these cut lil faces with my Peachy Keen Everyday Face Assortment.

These little cutie pies were cut at 3" from Create-a-Critter. I stitched them a bit with my white gel roll pen.

These Pilgrims were cut from Paper Doll Dress Up at 3". I gave them these cut lil faces with my Peachy Keen Everyday Face Assortment. I stitched them a little bit with my white gel roll pen.

I pop dotted everything. I put the brown ribbon (from Walmart) around the top just to add a lil extra finishing touch. The bottom of the box is cardstock in a burnt orange. The top of the box is vellum. This way the lights (from the battery operated candles) can be seen. Though you can't see...it's super cute in the dim lights.

Hope I gave you some inspiration...now time to crawl. Keep on crawling over to the wonderful Cathie. If you just started here, and would like to play along with our Fantabulous Cricut Crawl, start HERE .

Marine Corp Birthday Blog Hop!

The Marine Corp is having a big one this year...Big 236th! Whoo hoo! Happy Birthday all you Heros.
As we celebrate the 236th birthday of the United States Marine Corps, we also remember all men and women who have chosen to serve our country so we can all be free.
Being the wife to a former Army man, I might get in trouble for celebrating with the Marines... Just kidding! Through my experience with my husband, I have a great respect for the military and their families. My husband was overseas only 1 time for a span of 1 year, and I DO NOT know how families around the world do it on a daily basis. May God Bless them superiorly for their love and commitment to protecting and serving the US military.

In celebration of the big day, I made a birthday card.

I cut the hats as a border in 3" from Doodlecharms. The paper is from a Cricut papers birthday pack. The twine is from Joann's except the buttercream is The Twinery, but I got it from Sweet N Sassy stamps. I love that place. I did some stitching/striping on the numbers with my white gel roll pen.

I thought we might revisit the card I made for the Operation Write Hop blog hop I was in about a month ago. I have mention this blog before. I like to promote it because of the wonderful mission they fill. OWH collects handmade cards from people across the US and mails them to troops overseas. The troops can use these beautiful cards to write back home to family and friends.

Here is my card...

The cuts are from Winter Frolic. You can look at my post from the hop, if you'd like to know more about the details.

I thought I might share some interesting quotes I found by people in regards to the Marines.

Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But, the Marines don't have that problem.
Ronald Reagan, President of the United States; 1985

The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!
Eleanor Roosevelt, First Lady of the United States, 1945

Courage is endurance for one moment more…
Unknown Marine Second Lieutenant in Vietnam

The wonderful love of a beautiful maid,
The love of a staunch true man,
The love of a baby, unafraid,
Have existed since time began.

But the greatest of loves, The quintessence of loves.
even greater than that of a mother,
Is the tender, passionate, infinite love,
of one drunken Marine for another.
"Semper Fidelis"

General Louis H. Wilson
Commandant of the Marine Corps
Toast given at 203rd Marine Corps Birthday Ball
Camp Lejueune, N.C. 1978

I found these here...www.oldcorps.org/USMC/quotes.html. I think my favorite is the one by Eleanor Roosevelt. So cute, funny and true. LOL.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hopping along.
